To the World I promise temperance and insight and courage,
To crusade for justice to seek the truth and defend it always,
To those whom my life may touch in slight measure
May I give graciously of what is mine,
To my friends understanding and appreciation,
To those closer ones love that is ever steadfast,
To my mind growth
To myself faith
That I may walk truly in the light of the flame

Delta Zeta was founded at Miami University in Oxford Ohio on October 24th 1902. The sorority was founded by 6 lovely ladies who gave Delta Zeta its’ values and purpose. Delta Zeta was the first national sorority on Miami Universities campus and became known as the mother to fraternities. Delta Zeta’s National Philanthropies are speech and hearing and the painted turtle camp. For speech and hearing we partner with the following organizations: Gallaudet University, House Ear Institute, and the Starkey hearing foundation. Gallaudet University is the world’s only school for the speech and hearing impaired. Delta Zeta funded a vibrating dance floor for the University so the deaf could dance to the beat, and continues to fund and support the University. The House Ear Institute provides hearing aids to those who cannot afford them and Delta Zeta helps fund them in this effort. Lastly the Starkey Hearing Foundation helps those who are hearing impaired. Delta Zeta provides them with build a bears with hearing aids to give to children who are hearing impaired. Our other philanthropy, The Painted Turtle Camp, is a camp for kids with chronic illnesses. Children with these illnesses can go to the camp for a week free of charge and be with other children who have the same illnesses making them not feel so alone and left out, Delta Zeta helps fund the camp experience.
